Jennifer is a former teacher with a BA in Spanish Education and a MS in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. She stepped away from the classroom to begin homeschooling her own children in 2015. In 2017, after receiving a dyslexia diagnosis for her son, Jennifer began researching how she could help him to read and spell. This search led her to the Orton Gillingham method of teaching spelling and reading. After experiencing great results with this method, Jennifer knew she wanted to help other families who needed an OG tutor. She started tutoring students of all ages in 2018. Early on she learned that mastering sight words would be a challenge for her students. While seeking answers to the sight word mastery problem, Jennifer came across the concept of using graphics to capitalize on the multi-sensory element of the Orton Gillingham method. After trying some cards with her students, Jennifer found the graphics to be invaluable in improving retention of difficult sight words.  Knowing that many people would benefit from the production of some of the more advanced words, she decided to embark on the process of producing her own cards. Each card started as a rough sketch which eventually evolved into the colorful and fun cards available here in digital and physical formats.
